News Highlights Introducing Tamid of Hebrew College: Your Home for Adult Jewish Learning
“Our sacred mission includes helping Jews find a home at Hebrew College,” says Hebrew College Vice President Dr. Susie Tanchel. “What better way to enrich your continual process of growth and learning than through Tamid of Hebrew College: Your home for Jewish adult learning!”
The Hebrew word “Tamid”, which can be translated as “continuous” or “eternal”, is an apt descriptor for Hebrew College’s adult learning programs — providing lifelong learning that links us to our past, contextualizes our present, and connects us to the future. From traditional text study and Hebrew language learning to courses grappling with global issues and current events, from spirituality and meditation experiences to travel learning tours, “We understand Jewish education as a responsibility to educate the whole person,” says Tanchel.

“We asked our adult learners what they are looking for. We listened carefully — and the result is Hebrew College Tamid, a holistic vision of adult learning experiences, at all levels, for the mind, body, heart and soul,” says Tanchel. The updated Tamid online course catalog offers tools to search for offerings, whether you are new to Jewish learning, thinking about becoming a Jew, knowledgeable about Jewish text in translation but want to learn the Hebrew, or want a deep dive into Jewish history through our flagship Me’ah Classic journey. Whichever experience(s) you choose, we hope adult learners will build and/or strengthen their own connections to Jewish tradition and the Jewish people.
Tamid is an extension of Hebrew College’s longtime commitment to educating the whole person. We don’t just help develop the minds of our future rabbis and Jewish educators… but also their hearts, bodies, and souls. We bring that same commitment to our adult learners through Tamid.” — Dr. Susie Tanchel
“We offer depth and openness in a non-judgmental space so we can help you grow as a learner,” says Kim Bodemer, Hebrew College Director of Tamid Adult Learning. Bodemer is excited about the new and enhanced adult learning offerings, which include:

Tamid is an extension of Hebrew College’s longtime commitment to educating the whole person in our graduate and professional development programs. Says Tanchel (right), “We don’t just help develop the minds of our future rabbis and Jewish educators through our Rabbinical School, and MaTaRoT Master in Jewish Education and professional development programs, but also their hearts, bodies, and souls.” Hebrew College brings that same commitment to our adult learners through Tamid, offering diverse opportunities and different experiences to deepen and enrich your whole self and your connection to Judaism.
