Lehrhaus is an amazing vision from Josh Foer and Rabbi Charlie Schwartz, and Hebrew College is thrilled to be an anchor partner Jewish food and drink from around the world, ancient texts, and timeless conversation. It’s going to be pretty magical and we’re excited to be part of the mix. I’m personally looking forward to trying a taste of Summer in Krakow.” — President Rabbi Sharon Cohen Anisfeld.

Hebrew College is excited to be a founding partner of Lehrhaus, “something akin to a neighborhood watering hole and community library, with educators on hand to guide people in learning Jewish text,” according to August 3, 2022 eJewish Philanthropy and Jewish Insider articles. (The project was also featured in a July 25, 2022 JewishBoston and article.)

The tavern/beit midrash is the brainchild of Sefaria creator Joshua Foer and former Hillel International Senior Director of Jewish Education Rabbi Charlie Schwartz, who are working with local and national Jewish organizations to create pluralistic content. Founding partners include Hebrew College, the Jewish Review of Books, the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, and Hadar. (Photo courtesy of eJewish Philanthropy)
