Humans of Hebrew College Cantor in Prague
“I travelled to Prague for the 11th European Cantors Association conference and am enthralled by this city, this conference, and yes, the authentic Pilsner! Cantor Naftali Herstik, my mentor from Jerusalem, who is Chief Cantor Emeritus of the Great Synagogue of Jerusalem and the founder and director of the Tel Aviv Cantorial Institute, was the featured lecturer, and because of his international fame, cantors-scholars came from Canada, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Hungary, Israel, South Africa, Turkey and the USA. This city, home of a vibrant Jewish community for 1000 years, and the favorite city of Mozart, was the perfect setting for the study of Jewish sacred music.”
