Celebrate the works of Beatrice Wool z”l, a Hebrew College alumnus and artist who based many of her prints on Biblical themes, including the days of creation, women and men in the Bible, holidays, and scenes of Israel. Wool’s prints are on display and available for purchase at Hebrew College through December 31.

Beatrice Wool z”l was born and grew up in Boston. She went to Girl’s Latin School and attended the Hebrew College through the 11th grade. For the twelfth grade, in 1936, in order to create a portfolio to apply to art school, she transferred to Dorchester High. She then studied and graduated the Mass College of Art. She practiced her art while raising a family, but after raising three children, her art work flourished. She produced oil paintings and drawings ,and then began using the technique of silk screens. She based many of her prints on Biblical themes, including the days of creation, women and men in the Bible, holidays and scenes of Israel, as well as more secular prints.
