Parenting and Grandparenting Free Summer Sessions

Join Hebrew College’s Parenting Through a Jewish Lens this summer for two free online summer sessions:

For Grandparents:

Leann ShamashThe phrase L’dor va’dor (from generation to generation) is found repeatedly in Jewish liturgy and text, reminding us of the sacred obligation to pass down our stories to our children and ultimately, to our grandchildren. Every grandparent has a story to tell.  Whether they are stories about your childhood or about your children, your grandchildren should hear them. In this workshop, we’ll explore our unique stories and how to tell them so our grandchildren will listen!

For Parents of Tweens and Teens (ages 11-19):

Parenting for Resilience in a Time of Loss and Uncertainty

Robin FreemanExplore the ways in which we can support our tween and teen children in managing the loss and isolation that has come with living through this pandemic. Using Jewish sources, we will examine how Jewish wisdom can guide us along this challenging journey in which parents themselves are also experiencing emotional pain and uncertainty. Come away from this session with tools and ideas for responding to our kids honestly and compassionately during a time of crisis while also managing our own anxiety.
