The Shehecheyanu is a blessing of thankfulness. It is traditionally said at the beginning of holidays and to celebrate joyous occasions. You can also say this blessing to mark family milestones and other special moments.

Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of the Universe, who has kept us alive and sustained us and permitted us to reach this time.

Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech ha’olam Shehecheyanu, v’kiy’manu, v’higianu, laz’man hazeh.
