Rabbi Getzel Davis, RS ‘13, recently published a story at Interfaith America about working in relationship with Imam Khalil Abdur-Rashid, Harvard’s Muslim Chaplain in the difficult months since October 7th. Their work together over the academic year culminated in an invitation to share convocation duties at Harvard’s 2024 commencement, the first time in the history of the University that htis blessing was offered by leaders from different faiths.

Rabbi Davis and Imam Abdur-Rashid’s shared commitment to fostering connection despite areas of disagreement, and in the face of internal and external pressures, models the pluralism, open-mindedness, and collaborative spirit we value at Hebrew College.
