Please join collabotive campus partner Temple Reyim on Thursday, May 21 for Tikkun Leyl Shavuot celebrating Mizrachi music, history and tradition.
The special evening begins with a kosher vegetarian potluck dinner in the campus courtyard followed by a performance by Anat Hochberg and Talk by Professor Yuval Evri on “A Celebration of Mizrachi Music, History and Tradition.”
MUSIC and TEaching
7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
“A Taste of Yemeni Song” Concert with Anat Hochberg and percussionist Matt Meyer. Anat will perform songs in Hebrew and Arabic from both the sacred and secular. traditions. We will also learn about the history and context of this music.
8:30 to 9:15 p.m.
Teaching and Discussion on Mizrachi Jewish history by Yuval Evri, Professor of Mizrachi and Sefardi Studies at Brandeis University.
9:15 p.m.
Maariv and Kiddush
