Sacred Musical Majesty Classic Synagogue Music from the 19th century In this course we will examine synagogue music written by and for sophisticated Jews of 19th century Central Europe. We will analyze this music in the context of the social situation of emancipated Jews and their theology. This course is offered in conjunction with the Central Reform Temple and culminating with a live concert by the Zamir Chorale of Boston at CRT on June 7, 2025.
