As part of biblical wisdom literature, the book of Ecclesiastes has forever challenged and inspired. It is a timeless offering for spiritual seekers and thoughtful readers that invites an inward glance at our mortality, the ephemeral nature of reality, and how to best live fully in the world. Through this class, we will become familiar with the different perspectives on this powerful text from a variety of sources and will have a chance to generate our own sense of what treasured messages lie waiting to be uncovered. There will be opportunities for written reflection, meditation, paired (hevruta) learning, and group processing. If you are seeking to become more intimately connected to a piece of the Hebrew Bible and want to improve your skills of reading wisdom literature this is a great course for you! English translations of all Hebrew texts will be provided.
Hebrew College Open Circle Jewish Learning classes are for learners of all backgrounds.
