REALITY PROGRAMMING

Applying Jewish values to the real world is the focus of a new Prozdor summer program for Jewish teens. Keren Or—Ray of Light—combines mornings of Jewish study with afternoons of community volunteer work, with a goal of engaging teens in acts of tikkun olam. Working with Prozdor faculty, students will design their own social justice curriculum, learning in a directed seminar format. Volunteer activities may include helping at a homeless shelter or tutoring inner-city children. The six-week program, July 1–August 6, costs $600. Keren Or is offered in collaboration with the Jewish Community Relations Council of Boston, supported by a grant from CJP's Commission on Jewish Continuity. For details, call 617-559-8800.
