RACHEL ADLER OPENS
FEMINIST SCHOLARS SERIES

In the first of a series of seminars and community lectures with several of the world's leading Jewish feminist scholars, Dr. Rachel Adler returns to Hebrew College on October 28–30 for an in-depth analysis of the challenging concept of suffering. Three lunchtime seminars, 12:00–2:00 p.m., will examine the communal and spiritual experiences of suffering and the language of suffering, drawing on biblical texts, critical studies and contemporary experiences. In a community lecture on Wednesday, October 29, 7:30 p.m., Adler will present "Pour Out Your Heart Like Water": Toward a Jewish Feminist Theology/Ethics of Suffering.

One of the first theologians to integrate feminist perspectives and concerns into the interpretation of Jewish texts and the renewal of Jewish law and ethics, Adler is Associate Professor of Modern Jewish Thought and Judaism and Gender at Hebrew Union College—Los Angeles.
