TWO FAITHS, ONE SUKKAH

In the Sukkot spirit of welcoming ushpizin (guests), about 50 Hebrew College and Andover Newton Theological School students joined in the College's sukkah to begin a third year of interfaith sharing on October 15. Interfaith Dialogue, a student-led group created by MAJS student Betty Ann Miller and ANTS graduate Abigail Stockman, sponsors events throughout the year on topics of interest selected by participants. "We have this incredible opportunity," says Miller, "to develop interfaith relationships that we can call upon as we become leaders in our individual faith communities."

The gathering in the sukkah, planned by Hebrew College Rabbinical School student Chaim Koritzinsky and ANTS student Donna Manocchio, included an Israeli-style dinner, a food drive, an overview of the Sukkot holiday and the sharing of individual insights about the places and experiences students call home.

The dialogue's theme this year is prayer. Six remaining gatherings will explore worship and prayers in various faith traditions, and the year will conclude with a Passover seder in April.
