Setting a new Hebrew College fundraising record, the Department of Development brought in $6 million this past academic year—including $3 million for the annual fund, nearly tripling last year’s total.
The centerpiece of this year's events was the Hebrew College Prozbowl—believed to be Boston's best attended fundraiser for a Jewish institution in recent history. More than 1,200 guests of all ages gathered at Gillette Stadium on May 7 to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of Hebrew College Prozdor High School with co-chairs Myra
Me'ah'01 and Robert Kraft
P'58.
Director of Development David Chivo credits committed volunteers led by Barbara and Leo Karas, co-chairs of Hebrew College's Development Committee. Dedicated community philanthropists and longtime devotees of the College's programmatic offerings, the Karases spearheaded the annual campaign and expanded the committee to broadcast the instrumental role Hebrew College plays in addressing key challenges faced by today's American Jewish community.
"All of those involved in Development were overjoyed to learn how much our community really cares about the work of Hebrew College, and to see how much our supporters, alumni and friends see themselves as members of the Hebrew College family," says Chivo.
