Smuggled out of the Poniatowa labor camp in a basket of bread, Dr. Leo Arnfeld
BJEd'61 was almost four when he escaped the Nazis12 when reunited with his father, whom he had never known. But the trauma of the Holocaust never weakened his connection to his Jewish heritage. That experience, coupled with his postwar years of Jewish study in Europe and at Hebrew College, forged his conviction that Jewish education is the key to keeping the Jewish people united.
Living that conviction, Arnfeld and his wife, Lorraine, are sponsoring a special series of courses for alumni exploring historical, musical and artistic perspectives on the post-Holocaust era. Presented in memory of the Arnfeld, Kipnis and Small families, the series will take place on three consecutive Thursdays, starting November 3, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in Berenson Hall.
The courses are offered for Hebrew College, Prozdor and Me'ah alumni with the recommendation of an $18 contribution to the Hebrew College Fund. For more information,
